Check the thickness of the tracks when buying new hardware
The thicker the garage door tracks are the less likely they are to bend. The thickness of these components is measured in inches. Most tracks for residential doors have thickness of 0.055, 0.062, or 0.075 inches. You can readily opt for thicker and stronger components even if your door is not particularly heavy.
